Charlie Crow Dog Meyers
In 2002, his girlfriend Robin
(who in 2005 became his wife) came back from a trip to Sedona Arizona
with a Native American Flute. Having a love of music and a Cherokee and
Choctaw ancestry, and always having an interest in the old ways, his
curiosity was immediately peaked. He began to play with it a little
bit, and soon bought his first Flute. He fell in love with the sound,
which ranged from slow and haunting to chirpy and energetic along with
everything in between. Native American Flute music immediately joined
the list of music that he loved listening to. Soon after, he was invited
to the Native American Flute Circle of Louisiana, where he met others
like himself, drawn to the Native American Flute, and under the tuteledge of Twohawks he learned more and improved.
Since then he has continued to be a part of the Native
American Flute Circle of Louisiana and is now the director, He also
began playing the Djembe, an African drum, to accompany the flute
players in the group when he desired. Finally in
late 2004, he attended a workshop on playing the Australian didgeridoo,
and bought two on the spot. Since then, 2 more didgeridoos have joined
his ever-growing collection of musical instruments.
Charlie has performed on all of Twohawks CD's utilizing his
talents in percussion, and the sounds of the didgeridoo.
